Preparation for Graduation...
Important announcement:
Check in with your house teachers so that you can make sure the names on your graduation diplomas are spelled CORRECTLY and are FAMILIAR to you (and your family)...
Try to see the senior team TODAY, and if they, for some reason, do not have the list with our names that need to be checked (initialed for approval), check in with Ortega...I know she, for sure, has a list.

1. Who do you plan to interview? What is this person's area of expertise?
2. Post 20 open-ended questions you want to ask an expert in the field concerning your senior project. Your focus should be finding answers to your EQ.
If you have already interviewed someone two times, you aren't allowed to interview that same person without House teacher approval.
The interview itself is not due until Friday, April 15th to turnitin.com. However, we want to give you as much time as possible, so we are asking you to complete the blog now. Remember that in addition to turning in the interview to turnitin.com, you also need to turn in the verification sheet to your House teacher and post an audio excerpt of no less than 5 minutes on your senior project blog.

- Log of hours clearly delineated as Independent Component 2 on the senior project hours spreadsheet (with total number of hours included)
- Evidence of the 30 hours of work (e.g. transcript, essays, tests, art work, photographs) as digital artifacts
For this blog post and approval, please answer the following questions.
1. Describe in detail what you plan to do for your 30 hours.
2. Discuss how or what you will do to meet the expectation of showing 30 hours of evidence.
3. Explain how this component will help you explore your topic in more depth.
4. Post a log in your Senior Project Hours link and label it "Independent Component 2" log.
Your answers to the questions should be supported with details and examples for the senior team to understand what you plan to do. Once we review your Blog Post 16, your house teacher will discuss with you the approval of your plan. If it is approved, please start working on it. If it is not approved, your house teacher will explain why. It is your job to address the concerns so you can get your component approved. Additionally, any changes requested must be addressed to your house teacher well in advance of the completion date for full credit on the assignment.

Make sure that you include your EQ in the header of the blog.
As with each blog, you should choose an interesting visual to entice people to read what you have written.
For this interview, you will prepare 10 open-ended questions that focus on your newly approved EQ (in fact, your first question can be your EQ). Remember, all interviews must be done in person unless they are specifically approved by your house teacher. Additionally, one person may be interviewed a maximum of two times.

2. Verify that you have called your interviewee to schedule an interview. What is the date and time of the interview?
3. Phrase an open-ended question that will help you find research resources that would help to answer the EQ.
4. Phrase an open-ended question that will help you think about other useful activities you might do to help you answer the EQ (IC2, possible experts to talk to, etc).
5. Phrase two open-ended questions that help you to understand your interviewee's perspective on an aspect of your EQ.
The interview transcript is due to turnitin.com with the 5-minute audio excerpt and entry to the blog on Friday, February 19th. In addition, you need to turn in the verification sheet to your house teacher.

We'll have a house discussion in place of a research check this Friday to check in on how things are going.

The purpose of the second interview is to justify your
mentor as an expert in the field. You will be asking them at least 5 questions about their background and/or the
background of the organization or company where they work.

and where do they work? If their workplace does not reflect their expertise, what makes them an expert?
2. What five
questions will you ask them about their background?
The interview is due 10/31 by 8AM in numbered Q&A format to turnitin.com. Additionally, a reflection of the experience as well as a 5 minute audio/video clip should be posted on the blog by that time.
