November 9, 2015

As quoted from the "Walking Dead"...

Well hello there, and welcome to a new week my fellow iPoly-onians.

We start off the week with cloudy weather and days resembling winter on some other planet in some other galaxy.

However, because I am no meteorologist or galactic conspiracy artist (yet, that is), I shall instead spend my remaining time detailing to you a more familiar note from reality:

HOMEWORK (first rotation)
  • Ortega: do a Goodreads assignment if you wish to recieve an AE for your SSR grades this month (treat it as necessary extra credit); you should also be keeping track of the books you are reading and have read in your notebook-bound "book record" (assignment #23); no immediate homework, just a bunch of recommendations on how to spend your time wisely and successfully
    • finish the fill-out form about our goals for english class (due already...turn in ASAP if you have not done so already)
  • Piggott: none; rest...
    • Rivas: none; keep polishing up those bills and don't forget about the advertisement schemes we must plan for the persuasion of our iPoly peers...there shall be another version of our bills due this FRIDAY, so speed up some of your polishing!
      • Holt: keep up to date with the material with textbook reading on Magnetism...don't forget about the Hab project, and the fact that the rover portion of the project will be assigned this week...remember, extra commodities to the Hab landscape shall be counted as extra credit points, and so "WOW" or be wowed by subjectivity in your grades...
      • Senior Project: no research checks or blog posts due this week...

      SCHEDULE OF EVENTS (first rotation)

      - Ortega: We read for about 20 minutes when class started after completing a worksheet applying our knowledge of premises and conclusions, after which point we added 4 assignments to our notebooks (A#26-A#29).  In this way, we talked about extra credit opportunities available to us for the remainder of this first semester as well as the next (the list shall adapt as we point out more methods for Ortega's approval that they show we are showing a desire for literacy) and then took notes from Ortega's beloved book on the topic of 'making persuasive arguments handy to us' - particularly in using more than one example to illustrate a point and researching background rates and trends in regards to establishing a viable decision.

      - Pigott:  We braved a unit test on imaginary/complex numbers and the art of factoring (you were warned)!
        - Rivas: We watched the film "Electoral Dysfunction" that brought to reality the American Dream as decided upon - through interpreting the popular vote - by the unpopular Electoral College.

        - Holt: We took yet more notes on Magnetism and then attempted a worksheet on the learnt material.

        - Senior Project: no research checks due this Friday and deliverables shall be paused till next week as model assembly approaches

        Some ASB Announcements...
--> Senior class hike at the Claremont Loop on November the 14th (that's this Saturday)
--> Keep checking your emails for updates!

A note from Mrs. Hunzeker (as told through pictures)...

        - Lone Wolf (here to stay for the day)
