Homework:
  • Ortega: Rough draft of your essay due TONIGHT to turnitin.com
  • Piggott:
  • Rivas:There is still a source analysis due this week. Don’t forget, the debates are starting next week.
  • Holt: Study for retake if you are taking it. Unit Test practice worksheet. Brainstorm, and possibly start on your ideas for your lab involving the rover.
  • Senior Project: Blog #18: Second Answer ,Answer 2 Share Out/Flow Chart , RC
What We Did:
  • Ortega: We did SSR for the usual 20 minutes while Mrs. Ortega checked our rough drafts of our literary analysis. Mrs. Ortega then helped us update our notebook because there will be a notebook check third rotation this week. After, we had a guest lecturer who had an activity and worksheet for us about analyzing text from 1984. This worksheet went into our notebook. At the end of class Mrs. Ortega went over how we should give feedback on the 1984 essays. We then switched our essays with someone else and started reading and giving feedback. We will continue to do this next rotation. Your essay is due to turnitin by tonight at 11:59pm. We also have peer reviews on turnitin which we will start second rotation. (2nd rotation- First we learned more about quoting in literature, then we did quote analyzing by finding a quote in 1984 about a certain topic (class systems, control through fear, etc) then after we wrote the quotes in our notebooks and put 3 things that explained why they related to the topic. For the second half of class we went into the computer lab and continued peer reviewing another person's essay and if you finished that you could work on yours on the computers)
  • Piggott:We went over the homework problem from last rotation. Then he gave us another example for our notes. There is no homework. Remember to study for the test we have first rotation next week.
  • Rivas: We watched a movie about Ecron.
  • Holt:We began class by getting back the last quiz and going over the results. Unfortunately, Mr.Holt believes that senioritis has set in early for us, which resulted in the majority of people failing the quiz. There are quiz retakes being held this Thursday at lunch, just sign up on Mr.Holt’s board. After, we were given a worksheet that mimics the unit test which is either first or second rotation next week. The test will include motion(simple and projectile), tension, and anything else that we have not had a unit test on yet. We were then given the rest of the block to work on either studying for the test, finishing the rover lab, or brainstorming for our group’s rover lab. (2nd rotation- We watched two videos about projectile motion, and then received a worksheet to help us practice for the test. After we got time to work on our rover experiments.
